Water Division Unveils New Website Ahead of Drinking Water Week

Designed to Help Better Inform and Assist Customers

St. Louis, MO – The City of St. Louis Water Division unveiled a newly designed web site ahead of Drinking Water Week which kicks off on Sunday, May 3 and runs through Saturday, May 9.

The site not only showcases the important work undertaken by the Water Division but also supports customers by providing an easier-to-use interface. Deputy Commissioner of Water Spencer Gould heralds the revamped site as part of an on-going effort to “highlight the professionalism and dedication Division team members bring to the job every day as well as a way to give customers clearer, more accessible tools and information”.

The Water Division used Drinking Water Week as an opportunity to launch the new website in order to more efficiently and effectively provide information to City residents, prospective employees, members of the media, and others.

In addition to social media celebrations of Water Division team members and the importance of safe, reliable, and economical drinking water, the week will feature another Water Town Hall hosted by the Division that will allow citizens to learn about the future of their municipally-owned system and provide them the opportunity to give voice to any comments or questions they may have.

Next week’s Town Hall will take place on Wednesday, May 6 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the O’Fallon Park Rec Complex at 4343 W. Florissant Avenue. A question and answer session hosted by Director of Public Utilities Niraj Patel, P.E. and Deputy Commissioner Gould will follow a short presentation. STL-TV will broadcast the event which will also be available to attend virtually via Google Meet, the link to which may be found on the “In the Community” calendar on the new home page.

Led by the American Water Works Association (AWWA), Drinking Water Week is an annual observance highlighting the importance of safe, reliable drinking water and recognizing the tireless efforts of water professionals who keep it flowing around the clock.
