The American Water Works Association (AWWA)
is the largest international nonprofit organization dedicated to the improvement
of drinking water quality and supply. The AWWA has more than 50,000 members
including more than 4,000 utilities.
The American Water Works Association Research Foundation (AWWARF)
is a member-supported, international, nonprofit organization that sponsors research to enable water
utilities, public health agencies, and other professionals to provide safe and affordable drinking water to consumers.
The Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA) is an organization of the largest
publicly owned drinking water systems in the United States. The Association represents the interests of these water systems by working with
Congress and federal agencies to ensure safe and cost-effective drinking water laws and regulations that protect public health.
The Partnership for Safe Water is a
voluntary initiative devised by AWWA to help water utilities ensure high drinking water quality and, at the same time,
boost consumer confidence in the quality of their drinking water.
