Vincent Foggie awarded Mayor's Service Award for Excellence in Supervision

Vincent Foggie, Water Distribution Superintendent, was awarded the Mayor's Service Award for Excellence in Supervision in a special ceremony held in the rotunda of City Hall on June 15. Foggie is one of nine City employees and two City work groups to receive the Mayor's Service Award for the year 2005.

Each year, Mayor Francis Slay honors those City employees who are making clear and significant contributions to the City and providing exemplary service to City customers.

"I am very proud of this year's recipients of the Mayor's Service Award," Mayor Slay said. "As a rule, City employees are hard working, conscientious individuals who are committed to making St. Louis a great city. This year's award winners exemplify the can do attitude that is so important in moving St. Louis forward, and it is a pleasure to honor them."

Foggie has worked for the City since 1994, and over the years, he has supervised a number of individuals. In his role as Water Distribution Superintendent, he supervises 130 dedicated employees in the maintenance and repair of 22,000 valves, 15,000 fire hydrants, and more than 1,200 miles of water mains, ranging in size from 3" to 84" in diameter.
